Lily
We got back from vacay safely, and the girls did great!!! Really...it was totally painless! We had an appointment with the pediatric urologist the week we got back! Rewind to when Lil was about 8 weeks old. She spiked a crazy high fever and we had to take her to the hospital. She had a UTI, and we found out that she had somethin called kidney reflux. So, the docs put our tiny little baby on an antibiotic that she had to take every day to keep all of the bacteria out of her urine and kidneys. When she hit age 2, they did a horrible procedure called a VCUG where they put a catheter is and flushed die into her kidneys to see how far and how much it refluxed. The docs said she could get off the meds and she would grow out of it! We were so happy!!! She didn't have another UTI for a little, but then when she started 3k, she started having them again! Poor thing! She would get them so bad...so painful. Every time we went to the doc...and every time they just gave her a 10 day dose of antibiotic. She has had about 7 UTI's in one year. The doc decided to put her back on the daily antibiotic, and referred us back to the urologist. Well a few weeks ago she had a crazy high fever, and yep...another UTI. It was the absolute worst one yet. She got 2 shots of penicillin, and 2 more antibiotics! POOR thing! I feel so bad. She is such a trooper! So...she had to have another VCUG...and it showed the reflux had got worse! So...we met with the urologist, and we thought Lil would have to have surgery! We were so scared and worried. After a 2 hour long appt with the doc, she gave us a solution...change her diet! She said Lil has controlled constipation, and she has a numb bladder because of it. She doesn't use the bathroom enough and that causes bacteria to cause infection. So we are changing her diet and giving it one year. It is a huge change but it is a good change...all fruits and veggies...tons of water...only whole grains, no white anything! I feel so bad because we had to take away everything she loves!! But..it is totally worth it! She is doing great as we shove fruits and veggies down her throat! Love her so much and we are praying this will work, so we won't have to have surgery. I just wanted to put this in the blog because it documents our life...and this has been a huge deal in Lily's little life!

SOOOOO HAPPY that Lily doesn't have to have surgery. I have been PRAYING for her and her situation, I am HOPING that the change in her diet will take care of the problem. I know it is HARD on her and you making the changes but sometimes change is good and she will be eating healthier as a result. LOVE you my sweet Lily!
